His expertise includes translational work in molecular biology, synthetic biology, aptamer technology and NMR-based metabolomics. Subsequently, he served as the Director of Protein Technology Core at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) at NCBS campus in Bangalore and as a Scientist Fellow at Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore. from the University of Oxford in England followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, USA and University of Texas in Galveston, USA. His current research interests are in proteomics analysis of gliomas - a major class of brain tumors and stem cell proteomics.ĭr. At IOB, he pursues cancer proteomics and promotes translational research programs. He has trained and mentored a number of young associates, Ph.D. He is the Founder President of the Proteomics Society, India which is strongly dedicated to proteomics education. He is an elected member of the Council of Asian Oceania Human Proteome Organization (AOHUPO). He is an expert reviewer for several international proteomics journals, a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Proteomics and Bioinformatics and serves on the research advisory panels of some of the national Institutes in India and that of US Pharmacopeia for protein therapeutics. At the CCMB, he was a Director-Grade Scientist and headed the Proteomics Laboratory before joining the Institute of Bioinformatics as Distinguished Scientist. He also worked as a Visiting Associate at the Washington University Medical School in St Louis, Missouri, USA and as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, USA. in Biochemistry from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad - a premier national laboratory.
